Color-Coded Flat Gaskets for Demanding Industrial Applications

Our color-coded system eliminates guesswork on site. Each color represents a specific gasket material engineered for different media, temperature ranges and pressure conditions — from potable water and heating systems to gas lines and power plants.

Whether you need aramid fiber for high-temperature gas, EPDM for outdoor water applications, or graphite for steam and extreme conditions, Kinetics Line gives you instant visual identification and reliable long-term sealing performance.

MATERIAL SYSTEM

Why This Color-Coded System Saves Time

One color = one material. Pick instantly. No guesswork.

🎨

FAQ

Industrial Gasket FAQ

What materials are used in the KINETICS LINE system?+

The system includes: Fiber (GREENSEAL), Aramid Fiber (BLUESEAL), Soft Fiber Composite (FLEXSEAL), Vulcanized Fibre (REDSEAL), Graphite Composite (GRAPHITESEAL), and EPDM Rubber (RUBBERSEAL). Each is color-classified for specific media, temperature, and pressure.

How do I pick the right gasket in 30 seconds on-site?+

Three checks. That's it: (1) Max temperature (°C) (2) Max pressure (bar) (3) Media (water/gas/steam/oils/chemicals). Match to the color/material. Done. No guessing.

Do you offer standard sizes, and how do I select the right one?+

Yes. Retail listings include standard flat gasket sizes (vary by set/marketplace). Match ID/OD and thickness to your flange/sealing surface. If unsure, measure the seat and use the listing size table.

Which materials are suitable for potable water?+

Certified for potable water applications: GreenSeal PRO 180, FlexSeal PRO 350 and RedSeal PRO 110. EPDM RubberSeal 110 is FDA-certified for food contact and suitable for sanitary water sealing applications.

Can I reuse a gasket after disassembly?+

No. Treat gaskets as single-use consumables. Reuse increases leak risk.

I need technical data sheets and chemical compatibility—where do I find them?+

Download datasheet PDFs from the B2B section or email [email protected] for chemical compatibility charts and operating limits.

Are gasket colors standardized across manufacturers?+

No. KINETICS LINE colors are proprietary and apply only within the KINETICS LINE range. Always match by material name/spec — not by "industry color assumptions."

Why are most KINETICS LINE gaskets Fiber Composites instead of Rubber?+

Physics. Pure rubber "creeps" (slowly flows) under bolt load and temperature cycling, which reduces clamping force over time and can lead to leaks. Most KINETICS LINE gaskets (Blue, Green, Yellow, Red, Graphite) use a fiber composite structure for rigidity and torque retention — they mechanically lock the joint. We use EPDM (Rubberseal) mainly for water, coolant, and outdoor applications where flexibility and UV/ozone resistance matter more than high-pressure stability.

Is a KINETICS LINE Fiber Gasket the same as a Metal Crush Washer?+

No — it's the next step. A metal crush washer (copper/aluminum) needs high torque to permanently deform ("crush") to seal, and it can fail on used surfaces with scratches or pitting. KINETICS LINE fiber gaskets seal by controlled compression and surface conformity: the fiber matrix adapts to micro-imperfections without extreme torque that could strip threads. This makes them a strong choice for older, used, or slightly uneven mating surfaces.

What is an aramid fiber gasket used for?+

An aramid fiber gasket is used for gas lines, chemicals, oils, fuels, and high-temperature industrial sealing where dimensional stability and pressure resistance matter.

Is EPDM gasket material suitable for potable water?+

Yes. EPDM gasket material is suitable for potable water, sanitary systems, and outdoor applications because it offers strong resistance to water, weather, ozone, and UV exposure.

Which gasket material is best for steam and high temperature?+

For steam and high-temperature systems, graphite gasket materials are typically the best choice because they handle thermal shock, pressure, and demanding operating conditions.

How to Avoid Gasket Leaks

01
Match material to operating conditions
Don't pick by size alone. Choose by temperature, pressure, and the media you're sealing.
02
Do not substitute by appearance
Materials can look similar but behave very differently under heat and chemicals. Always match by material name and temperature rating within the Kinetics Line system.
03
Clean the sealing surface before installing
Dirt, rust, or old gasket residue can cause leaks. Clean the sealing surface before installing a new gasket.
04
Replace after disassembly
Once compressed, gaskets won't recover their original thickness. Reuse increases leak risk. Install a new gasket after opening the joint.
